1. Q: Are there specific rules and regulations for renting out a boat?
A: Yes there is!! You should check with your respective state. You may follow this link to see Florida's Boating and Renting Regulations.
3. Q: I'm not a corporation just a personal boat owner, will I be able to get rental insurance for my boat and a captain?
A: Rental insurance is available even if you are a sole proprietor with or without a captain on your vessel. Most rental insurance policies replace your personal vessel policy with the addition of being able to rent the vessel. Check out our sponsors page page for a list of insurance brokers that can provide you with full details. Become a Owner Member and post a boat to recieve access to the forms you need to apply for insurance. Already a member? Sign in on the left.
4. Q: Do I need to obtain a occupational license or change my boat registration if I am renting my boat?
A: You need to check with your local county tax/registration office for rules and regulations in your state. Usually fees are nominal and the process is quick.
